Los Angeles -- The Los Angeles Kings got third-period goals from Justin Williams and Jack Johnson Thursday in a 3-1 win over Dallas.

Dustin Brown scored for the Kings, who have won five straight overall and improved their home record to 7-0-0.

Jonathan Quick was 27-of-28 in goal for LA.

Jamie Benn scored and Kari Lehtonen made 26 saves on 29 shots for the Stars, who lost their second straight following a three-game winning streak.

NHL: Los Angeles 4, Nashville 1

Los Angeles -- Anze Kopitar and Dustin Brown scored in the first period Saturday and the Los Angeles Kings cruised to a 4-1 win over Nashville.

The pair also contributed one assist apiece in Los Angeles' sixth straight home win to start the season. The last time Kings accomplished that was in 1980-81 when they went 7-0 at home to begin the year.

Ryan Smyth -- playing in his 1,000th NHL game -- and Jarret Stoll also scored and Jonathan Bernier made 25 saves for Los Angeles.

The Predators got their lone goal from Shane O'Brien in absorbing their fourth straight loss.

Nashville goalie Pekka Rinne stopped 18-of-22 shots before being lifted for Anders Lindback, who finished up the game with nine saves.

NHL: Nashville 3, Los Angeles 1

Los Angeles -- Dan Ellis made 27 saves Saturday, backstopping the Nashville Predators' 3-1 road victory over the Los Angeles Kings.

Cody Franson, Francis Bouillon (power play) and Joel Ward punched in goals for the Predators. Franson also notched an assist.

Dustin Brown scored for the Kings.

Jon Quick gave up all three Nashville goals on 25 shots.

Nashville has won four of its last five and stopped the Kings' two-game win streak.

The game was scoreless until 3:22 remained in the second period. That's when Bouillon scored on a blast from the point. Franson scored less than 5 minutes into the third for a 2-0 Nashville edge.

NHL: Los Angeles 5, Phoenix 3

Los Angeles -- Dustin Brown and Jarret Stoll each had two goals Saturday to lead the Los Angeles Kings past the Phoenix Coyotes 5-3.

Wayne Simmonds chipped in what proved to be the game-winner in the third period for the Kings' third consecutive win.

Shane Doan scored two goals for Phoenix and Radim Vrbata added the other.

Jamie Quick made 30 saves for Los Angeles while Ilya Bryzgalov notched 16 for Phoenix.

After Simmonds scored at 9:12 to put the Kings ahead 4-2, Doan tallied at 12:30 to pull the Coyotes to within one.
