The Black Eyed Peas have been left "devastated" by the death of Adam 'DJ AM' Goldstein - because they teamed up with him in Las Vegas just a week before his sudden passing.

The beatmaker was found dead on Friday (28Aug09) in his New York City apartment after a suspected drug overdose.

And Black Eyed Peas star Apl.De.Ap admits he was shocked to hear the news - as the band had collaborated with Goldstein in Sin City just seven days previously.

He tells MTV.com, "We couldn't believe it. We were just with him (last) Friday in Las Vegas. We DJed with him and we took a couple (of) pictures, and to hear it is devastating."
