Tribune Co. submits bankruptcy exit plan

Chicago, Del. -- The Tribune Co. said Saturday it had submitted a bankruptcy exit plan to the federal District Court in Delaware that would keep its operations intact.

Tribune Co. owns the Chicago Tribune, the Los Angeles Times, The Baltimore Sun, the South Florida Sun Sentinel and the Hartford Courant in Connecticut. It also operates 23 television stations. It filed for bankruptcy nearly two years ago, about a year after it was purchased by Chicago real estate mogul Sam Zell for $8.2 billion.

Funds and volunteers help reenact historic 1776 Christmas

Harrisburg, PA, December 26 -- George Washington’s historic act of passing across the Delaware River into New Jersey during the Christmas of 1776 was re-enacted successfully this year after a Pennsylvania company offered a donation of $400,000 for the annual event.

Sprint Cup announces race date changes

Daytona Beach, Fla. -- Sprint Cup race dates in Delaware, Arizona, North Carolina and Texas have been juggled for the 2010 season.

The Autism Speaks 400 at Dover, Del., moves to May 16, one week before the Coca-Cola 600.

The All-Star Race at Charlotte will take place May 22 in Concord, N.C., and the Coca-Cola 600, the Sprint Cup's longest race yearly, takes place May 29, the day before Memorial Day, also at the Charlotte Motor Speedway in Concord.
Qualifying for the season-opening Daytona 500 will be held Feb. 6, the same day of the Budweiser Shootout at Daytona Beach, Fla.

The Samsung 500 at Fort Worth, Texas, will be April 10, swapping places by one week with the Subway Fresh Fit 500 at Phoenix.
