Reynolds bringing stage show to the UK

London -- Hollywood screen icon Debbie Reynolds is taking her one-woman show "Debbie Reynolds Alive and Fabulous" to London's West End, producers said.

The 77-year-old actress starred in the film classics "Singin' in the Rain" and "The Unsinkable Molly Brown."
The BBC said she plans to perform a 15-date U.K. tour before bringing her show to London's Apollo Theatre in April.

This will mark her first return to the West End in 34 years.

"It's a variety show," Reynolds told the British broadcaster about "Alive and Fabulous." "I get to do impressions of Barbra Streisand, Mae West, Katherine Hepburn -- even Jimmy Stewart."

Reynolds' daughter Carrie Fisher is currently starring in "Wishful Drinking," her own one-woman show on Broadway.

Bikini record attempt falls 1,882 short

Southend-On-Sea, England -- Organizers of a British attempt at a world record for the most bikini-clad women photographed in one place say their bid failed when a paltry 42 women came out.

Debbie Reynolds, 23, said the turnout at the Southend-on-Sea, England, beach was far less than the 1,924 women needed to break the world record, The Daily Telegraph reported Monday.

"It was sunny and everything, so we thought we'd get a good turnout, but it was very sad when we realized that 42 was the grand total," she said. "It's pretty rubbish I must admit. We really need to try harder. It made me feel pretty embarrassed to be British when we can't even mount a decent challenge."

Organizers blamed the low turnout on initial forecasts for poor weather.
