MLB: Arizona 5, Los Angeles Dodgers 2

Phoenix -- Daniel Hudson limited the Dodgers to two hits in 8 2/3 innings Saturday in the Arizona Diamondbacks' 5-2 decision over Los Angeles.

Hudson (7-1) yielded a pair of runs while walking two and striking out five. He missed his first career complete game by only one out.

Cole Gillespie provided the offensive spark for Arizona with a three-run homer as the D-Backs evened their three-game series with the Dodgers at one win apiece.

Dodgers starter John Ely (4-9) was roughed up for four runs on seven hits with six walks in 5 1/3 innings. He struck out seven.

Los Angeles got RBI from Andre Ethier and James Loney.

MLB: Chi. White Sox 8, Detroit 4

Chicago, Sept. 27: Carlos Quentin's three-run homer Sunday lifted the Chicago White Sox to an 8-4 win over Detroit.
His 19th homer this season capped a four-run outburst with two outs in the bottom of the eighth shortly after Mark Kotsay's RBI single.
Gordon Beckham and Scott Podsednik had two hits and one RBI apiece, while Jermaine Dye added an RBI single for the White Sox, who won twice in the three-game series.

Winner Daniel Hudson (1-1) gave up two runs and three hits in six innings.
Reliever Matt Thornton earned his third save.

Detroit's Curtis Granderson had three hits, including a solo homer.

Ramon Santiago, Carlos Guillen and Ryan Raburn also had one RBI each with Santiago getting two of the seven hits for the Tigers, who maintained their two-game lead over Minnesota in the AL Central.

The losing pitcher was starter Edwin Jackson (13-8).
