MLS: Colorado 3, Los Angeles 1

Carson, Calif. -- Conor Casey scored the go-ahead goal and Omar Cummings added an insurance score Saturday for a 3-1 Colorado win over Los Angeles.

Edson Buddle scored his Major League Soccer-leading 17th goal inside 10 minutes but also as responsible for an own-goal 8 minutes later.

Casey got his 12th goal of the season in the 30th minute and Cummings added his 13th after halftime, boosting Colorado (12-8-9) into seventh place in the overall playoff standings.

The Galaxy (17-7-5) still has the top record in MLS, but holds just a one-point lead on Real Salt Lake entering the final weekend of the regular season in the race for the Supporters' Shield and the Western Conference regular-season title.

MLS: Colorado 1, San Jose 1 (tie)

Commerce City, Colo., Sept. 24: Conor Casey scored on a penalty kick in second-half stoppage time Wednesday, allowing the Colorado Rapids to salvage a 1-1 tie with San Jose.

It was the second time in five days the Rapids had pulled out a tie against San Jose with a penalty kick just seconds before the end of the game.

The Earthquakes took the lead in the 67th minute on a penalty kick by Chris Wondolowski after the ball had bounced off the arm of a Colorado player in the penalty area.

Colorado was able to tie it when Omar Cummings was taken down in the area by Jason Hernandez. Casey came through with his 15th goal of the season.

MLS: San Jose 1, Denver 1 (tie)

San Jose, Calif., Sept. 19: Conor Casey scored on a penalty kick in extra time Friday, allowing Colorado to escape with a 1-1 tie against San Jose.

Ryan Johnson gave San Jose the lead in the eighth minute and the Earthquakes maintained the advantage all the way until the game's final seconds.

Brandon McDonald, who assisted on Johnson's goal, was carded for arguing with the referee, giving Casey a chance to deadlock the game.

Colorado moved into a tie with Seattle for third place in the Western Conference. San Jose, winners just five times in 23 tries this season, is in last place.
