Halladay wins second Cy Young Award

New York -- Philadelphia's Roy Halladay, who led the major leagues in wins, was the unanimous choice for the Cy Young Award as the top pitcher in the National League.

Halladay, a right-hander, was the first choice on each ballot of 32 Baseball Writers Association of America writers who voted for the award, it was announced Wednesday. It is his second Cy Young Award. He won in 2003 while with the Toronto Blue Jays. Halladay is the fifth pitcher to win the honor in both leagues.

Adam Wainwright of the St. Louis Cardinals was second in the voting.

Randy Moss traded to Vikings

Eden Prairie, Minn. -- Wide receiver Randy Moss was traded to the Minnesota Vikings from the New England Patriots, who receive a draft choice in exchange.

The trade announced Wednesday sends Moss to the team with which he started his NFL career in 1998. He spent seven seasons with Minnesota before going to the Oakland Raiders for two years. He'd been with New England since the 2008 season.

The teams didn't disclose what draft choice the Patriots would receive.

Moss, 33, is a seven-time Pro Bowl selection, including last season when he caught 83 passes for 1,264 yards and 13 touchdowns. This season he caught four passes, three of which ended up as touchdowns, but didn't have any receptions in Monday's win at Miami.
