NHL: Montreal 4, Los Angeles 1

Montreal -- Carey Price had another outstanding game in goal Wednesday with 24 saves in carrying Montreal to a 4-1 decision over Los Angeles.

Price, who had recorded shutouts in two of his four previous outings, won for the 13th time this season. Los Angeles lost its second straight and has dropped five of its last six.

Andrew Kostitsyn and Mike Cammalleri gave Montreal a 2-0 lead after one period, but Alex Martinez cut the Los Angeles deficit to one with 1:57 having gone by in the second.

Tomas Plekanec and Lars Eller added goals for the Canadiens during the second.

Jonathan Bernier started for the Kings in place of Jonathan Quick and allowed all four goals on 33 shots.

NHL: Montreal 2, Toronto 0

Montreal -- Carey Price collected his fourth shutout of the season Saturday, making 30 saves in the Montreal Canadiens' 2-0 whitewash of Toronto.

Price blanked the Maple Leafs on three power plays and was especially sharp in the second period, when he turned aside 13 shots to preserve a one-goal lead.

Jeff Halpern tallied a shorthanded goal and Michael Cammalleri also scored for the Habs, who won for the fourth time in five games.

The Leafs saw their modest two-game winning streak snapped in the setback, during which Jonas Gustavsson made 36 saves.

NHL: Nashville 3, Montreal 0

Montreal -- Marcel Goc scored the first and last goals Thursday and Pekka Rinne produced his second shutout of the season to give Nashville a 3-0 win over Montreal.

Montreal had a four-game winning streak snapped.

Rinne has 16 shutouts in his four years with the Predators, having had seven in each of the last two seasons.

Goc scored on a backhander 1:19 into the second and he put a wrist shot past Carey Price with 8:43 remaining in the third. Cal O'Reilly delivered the other Nashville goal 8:55 into the third. Nashville won for the third time in four games.

Price, whose 11 wins this year are second-most in the NHL, stopped 27-of-30 shots.

NHL: Montreal 3, Philadelphia 0

Montreal -- Carey Price turned aside 41 shots for his third shutout of the season Tuesday in the Montreal Canadiens' 3-0 whitewash of Philadelphia.

Price -- who set a personal record for number of saves in seven career shutouts -- was especially tested in the second period, when the Flyers launched 20 shots and couldn't score on a 5-on-3 power play.

Brian Gionta racked up a goal and two assists and Mike Cammalleri and Tomas Plekanec also scored for the Canadiens, who won their fourth straight game took a six-point lead in the Northeast Division.

Flyers goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky absorbed the loss, allowing three goals on 28 shots.

NHL: Montreal 2, Vancouver 0

Montreal -- Carey Price turned aside all 35 shots he saw Tuesday, notching his second shutout of the year in the Montreal Canadiens' 2-0 decision over Vancouver.

Price withstood a furious Canucks onslaught in the third period, stopping 20 scoring attempts to record the sixth whitewash of his career.

Andrei Markov's first-period goal put the Canadiens ahead for good and Roman Hamrlik got his first goal of the season on a third-period power to ice the victory for Montreal, which won for only the second time in five games.

NHL: Montreal 2, Buffalo 1

Buffalo, N.Y. -- Carey Price took a shutout into the third period and made 22 saves Friday, carrying the Montreal Canadiens to a 2-1 victory over Buffalo.

The contest came on the 40th anniversary of Buffalo's inaugural home game in the NHL. Montreal won in Buffalo for just the second time in 11 regular-season games.

Alexandre Picard and Josh Gorges scored in the second period to put Montreal in control heading into the third, but Derek Roy made it a one-goal game with his fifth tally of the season, coming on a wrist shot 3:26 into the frame.

Price then took over to win his second game of the season.

Ryan Miller stopped 28-of-30 shots in Buffalo's fourth consecutive loss after opening the campaign with a win over Ottawa.

NHL: Montreal 2, Boston 1 (SO)

Boston -- Montreal's Mike Cammalleri fired the only goal of the shootout goal Thursday, giving the Canadiens a 2-1 victory over the Boston Bruins.

Glen Metropolit took a pass and tapped in a goal for the Canadiens in the first period.

The Canadiens' Paul Bergeron knocked in a rebound shot with 52 seconds left in regulation, sending the game into overtime.

Carey Price stopped 42 shots for Montreal.

Tim Thomas had 25 saves for Boston.
