MLB: Los Angeles Angels 5, Texas 2

Anaheim, Calif., Sept. 30: Mike Napoli drove in a pair of runs Tuesday and the Los Angeles Angels beat Texas 5-2 to eliminate the Rangers from playoff contention.

Napoli connected for a two-run bases-loaded single in the fourth inning to give the Angels a 4-1 lead.

Bobby Abreu had a solo home run of the Angels, who have won three consecutive games.

Sean O'Sullivan (4-2) was credited with the win in a spot start in place of Scott Kazmir. O'Sullivan allowed two runs on three hits in five innings.

Brian Fuentes notched his 46th save.

Scott Feldman (17-7) took the loss, allowing four runs on seven hits in 3 2/3 innings.

David Murphy had two hits, including a home run, for Texas.

MLB: Los Angeles Angels 5, Cleveland 4

Cleveland, Aug. 18: Vladimir Guerrero and Torii Hunter combined for five of the Angels' 13 hits Tuesday to lead Los Angeles to a 5-4 win over the Cleveland Indians.

The two Angels had both missed significant time with injuries, but Guerrero was 3-for-5 with a run scored and Hunter 2-for-5 for LA, which improved to 26-8 since July 10.

Trevor Bell (1-0) got his first major league win in his second-ever start, holding Cleveland to three runs on nine hits in 5 1/3 innings.

Brian Fuentes earned his 35th save of the season.

Every player in the Angels' starting lineup Tuesday now has a batting average of at least .300.

Asdrubal Cabrera had four hits and an RBI for the Indians, who have lost four of six. Jhonny Peralta added two hits and two RBI.

MLB: Los Angeles Angels 8, Tampa Bay 7

Anaheim, Calif. Aug. 11: Vladimir Guerrero hit two solo home runs Monday, including the 400th of his career, to lead the Los Angeles Angels to an 8-7 win over Tampa Bay.

Kendry Morales homered twice and drove in three runs for the Angels, who won for the third time in five games but have lost consecutive series to Texas and the Chicago White Sox.

Kevin Jepsen (4-3) got the win in relief, throwing two scoreless innings. Brian Fuentes earned his 32nd save.

Jason Bartlett had three hits, drove in two runs and scored twice for the Rays, who also got two RBI from Ben Zobrist and a solo homer from Carlos Pena in their second straight loss -- and their third loss in four games.

LA starter Sean O'Sullivan went 4 2/3 innings, allowing six runs on six hits.

MLB: LA Angels 6, Minnesota 5

Anaheim, Calif. July 24: Mike Napoli doubled home Bobby Abreu with two out in the 10th inning Thursday, giving the Los Angeles Angels a dramatic 6-5 win over Minnesota.

Los Angeles erased a two-run deficit in the ninth against closer Joe Nathan and then got to Jesse Crain in the 10th to win its sixth straight game.

Jason Kubel hit a two-run homer in the first for Minnesota and added an RBI single in the sixth, helping the Twins built a 5-3 lead going into the bottom of the ninth.

Nathan came on in a bid to earn his 27th save, but walked Abreu, hit Napoli with a pitch and gave up a run-scoring single to Gary Matthews. Howie Kendrick then reached on an infield single that deflected off Nathan, tying the game.
