Eden Prairie -- Minnesota Vikings quarterback Brett Favre has a sprained shoulder and is listed as day-to-day, Coach Leslie Frazier said Monday.
Favre was hurt in Sunday's victory over Buffalo when he was hit hard by the Bills' Arthur Moats during his first pass attempt -- an interception by Drayton Florence.
An MRI exam revealed a sprained sternoclavicular joint in Favre's throwing shoulder, and Frazier said his chances of appearing in the Vikings' next game against the New York Giants will depend on how he feels, the Minneapolis Star Tribune reported.

Eden Prairie, Minn. -- Minnesota quarterback Brett Favre, who has started an NFL-record 289 straight games, was listed as questionable Friday for Sunday's Vikings meeting with Dallas.
Favre's status was a focal point Friday among NFL quarterbacks, many of whom have struggled to stay on the field during the 2010 season. He has had only limited participation in practice this week due to an ailing right elbow.
Favre said this week he would consider the possibility of missing a game or two if the pain in his elbow worsens.

Favre told Sports Illustrated the injection of lubricants into the ankle was "like a grease fitting," SI.com reported Monday.

"They took out a cup full of stuff -- bone and all these other loose bodies," Favre said Saturday.
When asked if he thought he could last a whole season, he replied: "I don't know. I have no idea, really."

Minneapolis -- Minnesota quarterback Brett Favre reportedly underwent surgery Friday on his injured left ankle.
The NFL Network quoted a league source as saying the procedure had taken place.
Favre issued a statement last month saying his injured ankle was not debilitating and that his return to action was not dependent on surgery. Nevertheless, the repair of his ankle will renew speculation that the all-time pro football passing leader might return for another season.
Favre, 40, has played 19 years in the league. He helped lead the Vikings to the NFC title game last season before they fell to eventual Super Bowl champion New Orleans.

Indianapolis -- The Minnesota Vikings are fine with quarterback Brett Favre taking his time to decide whether to return or retire, a team official said Friday.
Rick Spielman, the Vikings vice president of player personnel, told reporters at the NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis the team isn't worried that Favre's uncertain status is affecting Minnesota's organizational strategy, the (Minneapolis) Star Tribune reported.
"Brett will make his decision when he makes his decision," Spielman told the newspaper, denying that the question mark hanging over the Vikings' quarterback situation is affecting Minnesota's analysis of the upcoming draft or the free-agent market.
