Salt Lake City -- Brandon Davies and Michael Loyd Jr. combined for 38 points Wednesday to lift No. 15 Brigham Young to a 71-51 victory over Utah.
Davies struck for 21 points and grabbed seven rebounds while Loyd chipped in with 18 points and six boards for BYU (27-4, 12-3 MWC), which won its fifth game in six contests and rebounded from an emotional loss to New Mexico last week.
The Cougars, who wrap up the regular season Saturday against TCU, got 10 points from Davies during a game-deciding 12-0 run to start the second half. The spurt extended their lead to 48-24 with around 14 minutes to go and effectively sealed the win.
The Utes (14-15, 7-8) were led by Chris Hines with nine points.
