Edwards wins Texas; Keselowski takes title

Fort Worth, Texas -- Carl Edwards edged Kyle Busch during a two-lap overtime and Brad Keselowski won his first Nationwide Series title Saturday at Texas Motor Speedway.

Edwards denied Busch his sixth Nationwide title and instead handed it to Keselowski with his first-place finish at the O'Reilly Auto Parts Challenge.

Edwards took over the lead after passing Trevor Bayne following a late-race restart. A green-white-checkered finish was set up after separate incidents involving Brian Scott and Clint Bowyer in the closing laps.

Keselowski increases Nationwide lead

Concord, N.C. -- Brad Keselowski stayed on the track during a caution with 45 laps to go Friday and the gamble paid off with a win in the Nationwide Series Dollar General 300.

Keselowski ran the final 57 laps at Charlotte Motor Speedway without a pit stop to protect his lead in the series points race. He recorded his fifth win of the year and the 11th of his Nationwide career.

Martin Truex Jr. was unable to pass Keselowski on either of the two late-race restarts and finished second. Justin Allgaier, Joey Logano and pole-sitter Clint Bowyer rounded out the first five.

Kyle Busch, who led the most laps with 84, had to settle for a sixth-place finish.

Edwards bumps Keselowski for N'wide win

Madison, Ill. -- Carl Edwards spun out Brad Keselowski on the final turn Saturday and went on to win the the Dodge Dealers 250 at Gateway International Raceway.

A green-white-checkered finish in the Nationwide Series race was set up when a multi-car crash occurred in the closing laps. Keselowski was holding the lead for the final restart, but Edwards bumped him out of the way after making several unsuccessful attempts to pass him.

The finish added further fuel to a feud between the two drivers. They have had previous on-track encounters, most notably when Edwards intentionally bumped Keselowski from behind and sent him flying into a wall of the Sprint Cup Series race at Atlanta.

Keselowski wins Memphis Nationwide race

Memphis -- Brad Keselowski beat Kyle Busch on the final lap Saturday to win the Nationwide Kroger On Track For The Cure 250 auto race at Memphis.

Keselowski won the crash-filled race at the Memphis Motorsports Park by overcoming a bump with Busch near the finish line, beating him by less than 1 second.

The race featured 14 caution flags due to numerous crashes involving, among others, Eric McClure, Carl Edwards and Michael McDowell.

Jason Leffler, Mike Bliss and rookie Brendan Gaughan completed the Top 5 finishers.
"It felt like I was getting nudged all the way around," said Keselowski, who received a $25,000 bonus after his fourth victory this season and sixth in his Nationwide career. (But) that's short track racing."

Keselowski signs with Penske

Mooresville, N.C. -- Brad Keselowski has joined Penske Racing and will drive full-time in both the Sprint Cup and Nationwide Series starting next year.

Keselowski, 25, replaces David Stremme in the No. 12 Dodge for next year's Sprint Cup campaign. It wasn't clear what role Stremme will have with the team in 2010.

In a limited Cup schedule this year with Hendrick Motorsports and Phoenix Racing, Keselowski is third in Nationwide points.

"We are very excited to welcome Brad to the Penske Racing family," team owner Roger Penske said. "Brad has shown terrific success on track the past several years and has quickly established himself as one of the top young stars in racing.

Carl Edwards wins latest Nationwide race

West Allis, Wis. June 21: Carl Edwards raced to victory Saturday at the Nationwide NorthernTool.com 250 in West Allis, Wis., home of the "Milwaukee Mile."

Edwards, in his Ford Fusion, beat Kyle Busch's Toyota to the checkered flag for his first Nationwide victory this season, after beginning the race from the back of the pack of 43 drivers.

Brad Keselowski (Chevrolet) was third, pole winner Erik Darnell (Ford) fourth and Ricky Stenhouse Jr. (Ford) completed the top-five finishers.

"It was too good to be true," Edwards said during a post-race television interview.

In the latest Nationwide standings, Saturday's victory helped Edwards trim 10 points off the lead of Busch, who has compiled 2,391 points to 2,264 for Edwards.
