Los Angeles -- U2 360 concerts recently canceled in North America because of lead singer Bono's emergency back surgery have been rescheduled, Live Nation said Tuesday.

The dates have been set for Spring/Summer 2011 with all tickets being valid at the rescheduled performances.

U2's 2010 European tour, which has not been affected, is to begin as planned Aug. 6 in Turin, Italy.

"We're delighted the dates are rescheduled and in all the same venues we originally planned to play," U2's manager, Paul McGuinness, said in a statement posted on the Irish rock band's Web site Tuesday.

Bono discharged, U2’s June tour postponed for next year

U2 band’s lead singer Bono’s emergency back surgery has led to the postponement of the June 23 show that was supposed to be held at Commonwealth Stadium at Edmonton.

Bono discharged from Munich hospital

Dublin -- Irish rocker Bono has been discharged from Munich's Ludwig Maximilians-University Hospital after undergoing emergency back surgery.

The news was announced on the Web site of Bono's rock band U2 Tuesday.
The musician had the operation last Friday and is now under doctor's orders to undergo rehabilitation for at least eight weeks.

"Bono suffered severe compression of the sciatic nerve," Dr. Muller Wohlfahrt said in a statement. "On review of his MRI scan, I realized there was a serious tear in the ligament and a herniated disc, and that conservative treatment would not suffice. I recommended Bono have emergency spine surgery with Professor (Joerg Christian) Tonn at Munich's LMU University Hospital on Friday."

Munich -- Irish rocker Bono has undergone emergency back surgery for an injury he sustained during tour preparation training, his band U2's Web site said Friday.

The online message explained the musician was admitted to a specialist neurosurgery unit in a Munich hospital where he is expected to spend a few days before returning home to recuperate.

Live Nation has confirmed U2's tour, which is scheduled to start June 3 in Salt Lake City, has been postponed.

Fans with tickets to the opening event are encouraged to retain them until updated show information can be provided, the Web site said.
