New York -- BMW of North America said Tuesday that problems with high pressure fuel pumps in various 2007 through 2010 models prompted them to recall 150,000 vehicles.
The recall includes 335i models from 2007 to 2010, 135i, 535i and X6 xDrive 351 Sports Activity Coups from 2008 through 2010 and Z4 Roadster sDrive35i models from 2009 through 2010, CNNMoney.com reported Tuesday.
In addition, BMW said 20,800 MY 2008 X5 Sports Activity Vehicles would be recalled due to problems with fuel pumps.
The company said power steering and power brakes would cease functioning if the engine shuts down due to fuel pump issues. However, "both steering and brakes remain operational," although without the power assistance, the company said.
