Kuala Lumpur -- U.S. pop star Beyonce has postponed this weekend's concert in Kuala Lumpur after the Pan-Malaysian Islamic Party called for its cancellation.
The BBC quoted the group of Islamic conservatives as denouncing the singer's flirty performing style and revealing stage costumes as "immoral," and claiming a Beyonce concert in Kuala Lumpur would mean the country condones "Western sexy performances."
"The postponement is solely (the) decision of the artist and has nothing to do with other external reasons," organizers Marctensia said in a statement issued to the British broadcaster.
No rescheduled date for Sunday's concert was announced.
