Oprah says she's not a lesbian

Chicago -- U.S. talk show host Oprah Winfrey denies a rumor claiming she is a lesbian in an upcoming interview with Barbara Walters to air on ABC.

"I'm not a lesbian," People.com quoted Winfrey as saying.
"I'm not even kind of a lesbian," she elaborated. "And the reason why (the rumor) irritates me is because it means that somebody must think I'm lying. That's number one. Number two ... why would you want to hide it? That is not the way I run my life."

Particularly vexing, Winfrey said in the interview set for broadcast Thursday, is the fact the lesbian stories focus on her relationship with her longtime platonic friend Gayle King.

White set for 'Fascinating' special

New York -- Kate Middleton, Justin Bieber and Betty White appear on Barbara Walters' list of the 10 Most Fascinating People of the Year, America's E! News said.

Sandra Bullock, Jennifer Lopez, the cast of "The Jersey Shore," LeBron James and Sarah Palin also made the roster.

The top two people's names won't be revealed until Walters' special airs Dec. 9 on ABC, E! News said.

'View' to celebrate 3,000th show

New York -- The U.S. daytime chat show "The View" is gearing up to celebrate its 3,000th episode this month, ABC said Monday.episode

"I can't believe we're about to celebrate 3,000 shows and we've had not one moment of drama," Executive Producer Barbara Walters said in a statement Monday. "I see no sign of us slowing down, especially because there's so much to talk about, and, boy, do we love to talk."

"It seems like just yesterday we were celebrating our 2,999th show," added Bill Geddie, executive producer.

Award-winning writer, producer, actress and comedienne Tina Fey is to be the featured guest on the Sept. 23 milestone episode of the show.

Walters set to return to 'The View'

New York -- Barbara Walters plans to make her first appearance on her U.S. chat show "The View" via Skype since undergoing heart surgery, ABC said.

The show's creator/executive producer and co-host is confirmed to appear on Monday's edition of the show.

This will mark Walters' first nationally televised appearance since undergoing heart valve replacement surgery in May.

The announcement was made Thursday by Bill Geddie, executive producer of "The View."

"I think I'm sick of them," the Los Angeles Times quoted Walters, 80, as saying on her daytime chat show "The View." "I feel I've been there, done that.

Twenty-nine years is enough ... You can switch the format a little bit and I love the fact that we have these stars (Sandra Bullock and Mo'Nique) and they're both nominated. ... I felt it was enough."
