Guangzhou, China -- A Hong Kong badminton player banned for doping said Tuesday she will prove her innocence by giving birth to a baby.
Zhou Mi, 31, told China Daily someone who takes drugs would never attempt to get pregnant.
"I will deliver a baby as soon as possible because I believe never dare anyone who takes drugs to do this," Zhou said.
The Badminton World Federation handed Zhou a two-year ban September 1 after a drug test in June indicated traces of the anabolic agent clenbuterol in her system.
Zhou insists she was unaware of using any medication that contained the prohibited substance though she admitted buying medicine for a cold during a badminton tournament in Southeast Asia before failing the drug test.
