Ford to use Google's 'Prediction' to make smarter cars

Google is all set to create smart cars. In partnership with Ford, the Californian search and tech giant is venturing into auto market by creating cars that they claim will be smart enough to know where you’re going, and will choose the shortest, quickest and traffic-free route to get you there.

Ford China Sales Shoot Up 35%

 Ford (NYSE: F) on Saturday said its China auto sales in November rose by 35% compared with the sales recorded last year, led by sales in the midsized-car segment, including the Fiesta and Focus models. The company sold 56,829 vehicles in November.

 

Electric cars, hybrids next for China

Shanghai -- China, the world's fastest growing auto market, plans to put more than 1 million electric and hybrid vehicles on the road, government officials say.

Sixteen large state-owned companies have formed an alliance to share resources to make China a world leader in alternative-fueled vehicles. Chinese media said the central government could invest nearly $15 billion in high-tech "green" auto technology as Beijing tries to lower pollution and greenhouse emissions.

"This is the kind of plan the government would like to happen, and they certainly have the resources to put behind it," Oded Shenkar, an Ohio State University professor of management and author of "The Chinese Century," told The New York Times.
