Washington -- The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announce a voluntary recall of Atico International USA bamboo torches due to a risk of laceration.
About 324,000 bamboo torches were imported from China by Atico International USA Inc. of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and sold nationwide from February 2008 through March 2010 for between $3 and $5 apiece.
The fuel canister on the torches have a sharp edge on the inside lip of the opening. The commission said five reports of injuries, one requiring stitches, have been reported.
The recall involves torches on bamboo poles with black metal canisters with a smooth metal lid. They are used to light outdoor gatherings, the commission said.
