Season 5 'Talent' audition dates set

Universal City, Oct. 12 -- The producers of "America's Got Talent" have set audition dates for the upcoming fifth season of the series in Chicago, Philadelphia and New York, NBC said.

Open casting calls are to take place in Chicago Saturday and Sunday, followed by auditions in Philadelphia Oct. 25-26 and in New York Oct. 31 and Nov. 1, the network said in a release Monday.

Noel Gallagher is reportedly set to give his side of the OASIS split in an interviewer to journalist-turned-talent show judge Piers Morgan.

The chat will take place on the America's Got Talent star's LIFE STORIES series on British network ITV1 later this year (09).

Springer's got talent

Jerry Springer is returning to America's Got talent - he is set to host a live version of the hit reality show in Las Vegas.

The TV talk show veteran served as presenter on the Simon Cowell talent hunt for two seasons, before quitting last year (08) to star in Broadway musical Chicago.

But Springer is set to helm the show once again - for a 10-week live residency in Sin City at the Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino from October (09). (CL/WNWA/KD)

Mariah to perform on TV's 'Talent'

Universal City, Calif. -- U.S. singer Mariah Carey has agreed to perform on the first "America's Got Talent" results show of the season, NBC announced Wednesday.

The recording artist is to appear on the Aug. 5 episode of the popular talent competition series.

In addition, the video for Carey's anticipated new single, "Obsessed," will air for the first time on Wednesday night's show. The clip was directed by renowned filmmaker Brett Ratner.
