Chicago, Sept. 10: A one-out double by A.J. Pierzynski drove in Alexei Ramirez from first in the 13th inning Wednesday, giving the Chicago White Sox a 4-3 win over Oakland.
The teams combined for 26 hits, but managed only two runs after the third inning.
Oakland tied it at 3-3 in the eighth on an RBI single by Kurt Suzuki and the relievers then battled on even terms until the White Sox struck against Edgar Gonzalez (0-2).
After Scott Podsednik grounded out to open the 13th, Ramirez singled to right. Pierzynski then hit the first offering from Gonzalez to center and Ramirez raced all the way around from first to score the winning run.
The White Sox, in third place in the American League Central, moved within 6 1/2 games of division-leading Detroit.

Chicago, Sept. 5: Mark Kotsay's two-run homer in the second inning ignited a 20-hit assault Friday that sent the Chicago White Sox coasting past Boston 12-2.
Kotsay and Alexei Ramirez each had three RBI in Ozzie Guillen's 500th game as manager of the White Sox.
The one-sided loss left Boston with just a two-game lead over Texas in the American League wild-card race.
Chicago scored five times in both the third and fourth innings. Ramirez had a two-run single in the third and drove in another run with a base hit in the fourth.
Freddy Garcia (1-2), who got the win, gave up a run on seven hits in six innings.
Losing pitcher Paul Byrd (1-1) allowed seven runs on 10 hits in 2 1/3.

Minneapolis, Sept. 1: Jose Morales had a pinch-hit RBI single in the ninth inning Tuesday to give the Minnesota Twins a 4-3 victory over the Chicago White Sox.
Michael Cuddyer homered twice for the Twins, who have won nine of their last 11 games and remain 3 1/2 games behind AL Central-leading Detroit.
Jon Rauch (2-0) got the win after pitching the top of the ninth.
Alexei Ramirez and Gordon Beckham homered for the White Sox, who have lost five in a row and nine of 10.
Jason Kubel singled off Matt Thornton (6-3) to begin the ninth. Brendan Harris singled an out later to put runners at the corners. After Carlos Gomez struck out, Morales got his first hit since July 11 to drive in the winning run.

Seattle, Aug. 12: Alexei Ramirez smacked a three-run homer in the ninth inning Tuesday and the Chicago White Sox beat Seattle 3-1.
Mariners' pitchers held the White Sox to just two hits through eight innings but A.J. Pierzynski drew a one-out walk from Seattle reliever David Aardsma (3-4) and Carlos Quentin followed with a single. Ramirez stroked his 13th home run of the season to put the White Sox ahead and Bobby Jenks pitched a scoreless ninth to get his 23rd save.
John Danks (10-8) went eight innings, allowing one run on seven hits with one walk and eight strikeouts for the White Sox, who won for just the second time in six games.

Chicago, July 22: A triple by Alexei Ramirez keyed a three-run seventh inning Wednesday that brought the Chicago White Sox from behind to a 4-3 victory over Tampa Bay.
The White Sox moved to within a game of division-leading Detroit in the American League Central.
A solo homer by Pat Burrell in the fourth and a two-run shot by Gabe Gross in the sixth staked the Rays to a 3-1 lead, but Chicago erased its deficit in the seventh despite Tampa Bay sending five pitchers to the mound in the inning.
Starter James Shields retired the first two batters in the seventh, but walked Gordon Beckham and was relieved by Randy Choate.
Scott Podsednik greeted Choate with an infield single and both runners moved up on a throwing error by shortstop Jason Bartlett.

Chicago, July 18: Jim Thome hit a three-run homer in the fifth and a grand slam in the sixth Friday, allowing the Chicago White Sox to outslug Baltimore 12-8.
The teams combined for 27 hits, but the two biggest came from Thome. His seven RBI helped the White Sox move within 2 ½ games of division-leading Detroit in the American League Central.
Thome broke a 3-3 tie with his three-run shot off starter Jason Berken (1-7) after Scott Podsednik and Jermaine Dye had drawn walks.

Chicago, June 25: Josh Fields put Chicago in front with the third of his team's six home runs Wednesday, pacing the White Sox to a 10-7 win over the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Fields hit two of the homers and all of Chicago's runs came on long balls.
Alexei Ramirez started the onslaught with a solo shot in the first, after which the Dodgers came back to take a 3-1 lead in the second.
Jermaine Dye tied things up with a two-run blast in the third and Fields gave the White Sox the lead with a two-run homer in the fourth.
Chicago then came up with three home runs in the fifth in the span of six batters -- a solo shot by Paul Konerko, a three-run blast by Jayson Nix and a solo effort from Fields that gave the White Sox a 10-3 advantage.

Cincinnati, June 21: Alexei Ramirez was 4-for-5 with a three-run homer and four RBI Saturday to lead the Chicago White Sox to a 10-8 inter-league win over the Cincinnati Reds.
Gordon Beckham also hit a three-run homer -- his first major league homer -- and scored twice for the White Sox, who overcame an early five-run deficit.
Scott Podsednik was 3-for-4 with a solo homer, two RBI and a pair of runs scored, and A.J. Pierzynski homered for Chicago.
Starting pitcher Clayton Richard gave up five runs on six hits in three innings. D.J. Carrasco (2-0) worked two innings of scoreless relief to earn the win.
Jonny Gomes hit a two-run homer and Jay Bruce had a solo blast for the Reds.

Chicago -- Jose Contreras pitched eight scoreless innings Monday and the Chicago White Sox beat Detroit 6-1 for a split of a day-night doubleheader.
Brandon Inge had a run-scoring single in the ninth to give Detroit a 5-4 victory in the earlier game.
Contreras (1-5) allowed only one hit and one walk in his first start since May 8 to earn his first win since June 27 of last season. The 37-year-old right-hander had an 8.19 earned run average in his first six starts of the season and was removed from the White Sox rotation.
Alexei Ramirez, Scott Podsednik and Jim Thome each homered in the second game for the White Sox, who had lost six of seven. Thome wound up with three RBI and Jermaine Dye was 3-for-4 with two runs scored.

Kansas City, Mo. -- Alexei Ramirez and Josh Fields combined for six of Chicago's 17 hits Friday and the White Sox used a six-run sixth inning to overwhelm Kansas City 11-2.
Ramirez and Fields both had three hits and two RBI while Clayton Richard worked seven solid innings. The White Sox built an 11-0 lead through six innings.
Richard (2-0) gave up two runs on six hits. He struck out seven in his fourth start of the season.
Jermaine Dye hit his 13th homer of the season, a solo shot in the first, and Fields doubled home two runs in the second.
Ramirez had an RBI single in the sixth, when Chicago sent 11 men to the plate.

Chicago -- Alexei Ramirez had a grand slam homer and five RBI Saturday to lead the Chicago White Sox to a 10-2 victory over the Toronto Blue Jays.
Jermaine Dye added a two-run homer, Brian Anderson had two RBI, and Paul Konerko was 3-for-4 with an RBI and two runs scored for the White Sox.
Mark Buehrle (3-0) worked six innings and gave up two runs on six hits.
Octavio Dotel, Matt Thornton and Scott Linebrink combined on three innings of one-hit relief.
Marco Scutaro and Jose Bautista each drove in a run for Toronto.
Brian Burres (0-1), called up Friday from Triple-A Las Vegas, took the loss after allowing six runs on seven hits in 4 1/3 innings.
