Futuristic technology at its best was at display at the 2012 LA Auto Show last week. The world had a glimpse at some of the finest concept cars at that time.
Not all concept cars at display will hit the roads, but it is worth having a look at some of them. Here are the top three concept cars from the show.
BMW i8 Concept
The BMW i8 Concept was one of the sexiest and sleekest concept cars on display at the LA Auto Show. It goes into production late next year and will debut in the year 2014. This plug-in hybrid was first unveiled at Frankfurt Motor Show in 2011 and has a 7.2 kwh lithium-ion battery pack, which powers it to an all-electric range of 35km.
Honda has been under a lot of fire for its unimpressive designs of late, but the EV-STER is going to break that trend. Expected to hit the US markets soon, it is tipped to revive the fortunes of the Japanese carmaker. It sports a bold design and, as per rumors doing the rounds, the production version would be available in both gasoline and electric engines.
Chevrolet Tru 140S
Not many concept cars hit the production lines. Even if they do, they are stripped of their most spectacular features that made them popular in the first place. However, Chevrolet Tru 140S seems set to change the notion by going into production soon. The officials at Chevy maintain that it may cost as low as around $20,000, which could make it a juicy deal.
