The new kid on the block: iPad Mini

The next ‘big’ thing, iPad Mini is finally here and has received mix response to be very fair. This rich in features device is bit pricey and the claims of monumental 10 hour battery life are quite justified!

Look and feel
The iPad Mini is ‘every inch an iPad’, as claimed by the company. Its screen size is 7.9 inch and the device is extremely light, so much so that it almost feels like a feather. For some people, it is too wide to fit into jacket pockets.

Price
Price is certainly not the USP of the recently launched iPad Mini. Its 16GB model will cost you $329, 32GB is available for $429 and the one with 64GB internal memory is priced at $529. The price is going to pinch a bit, but if you are a die-hard Apple fan, the price tag might not matter for you.

Performance
Resolution of iPad Mini matches that of its predecessor, iPad 2. Though the display is not retina, but you would find it better than display of iPad 2. Videos play seamlessly and look pretty good when viewed on it.

Basic tasks like page turning and scrolling can be performed pretty easily using one-thumb operation. The look and feel of the device reminisces one of Amazon Kindle gadget.

Other Specs
Other specifications include 5-megapixel back camera, 720p-capable FaceTime camera, 4G LTE, Bluetooth 4.0, recently launched Lightning connector and Wi-Fi at 5.2GHz. The overall customer response to Apple’s latest gadget will be measured once a sizable chunk of users receive their shipments!
