A comfortable ride, a cool infotainment system and a travel link make the new Chevrolet Malibu L TZ a gem to own, but is bit too pricey when compared with offerings from its competitors.
Chevrolet’s 2013 Malibu L TZ has a cool appearance and is rich with features and options that are quite likely to make you go gaga over it. The 2.5 liter, four cylinder engine delivers 197 horsepower and 191 pound-feet torque.
One can even opt for a jazzier 2L engine that delivers even better performance when teamed with a turbocharger and direct injection. The company is even working on a third option, more details are awaited on that.
Malibu L TZ sports a six-speed transmission system and comes loaded with a manual shift program as well. Some of the modes like ‘Manumatic’ and ‘Shiftronic’ are likely to confuse you; some experts have even dumped them as nonsense!
Predictability, safety and comfortable ride are taken for granted when it comes to Chevrolet. It gives pretty good average; 34 mpg on highway, 22 in city and around 25-26 mpg overall, which is pretty impressive.
The Chevrolet MyLink system is another pretty cool feature in this sedan. Bluetooth enabled calling, USB connectivity, support for iPod and MP3 music and much more will surely interest you. It has support for AM/FM, CD player, analog 3.5mm input and SiriusXM Satellite Radio as well.
In addition, there is support for Stitcher and Pandora apps. You can sift between Pandora channels, play songs, like or dislike them and perform all such activities that you perform otherwise.
All in all, Malibu L TZ is a pretty cool sedan, with impressive looks, comfortable interiors, pretty detailed dashboard and a smooth ride. But it is bit pricey, one needs to spend at least $28,590 for the base model.
