With anticipation building for October 23 release of Apple iPad Mini, how could Microsoft lag behind?

The software firm just revealed the price of it’s soon to be released Surface tablet, which has got too many interesting features for Apple’s comfort!

The Microsoft Surface tablet will hit the markets on October 26 and is already available for pre-order on Microsoft website. While the 32 GB model is available for $499, the black Touch cover with the same memory will be priced at $599. Surface tablet with Touch cover and 64 GB will carry a price tag of $699.

Touch cover
The touch cover is the USP of Microsoft Surface series of tablets. It doubles as a cover and a keyboard. Moreover, it is available in perky colors which goes a long way in jacking up the appearance of the tablet.

The cover is also available separately for $119.99 in juicy colors – red, magenta, black and cyan. A slightly heavier Touch cover is available at a tad higher price - $129.99. All this and other splendid features of this highly anticipated tablet are going to be a cause of concern for Apple, the market leader.

Other specifications
Other specifications including 10.8 X 6.7 X 0.3 inch exteriors and 1.5 pound weight. It has got 2GB RAM and is powered by NVidia T30 CPU. It supports both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.0 technologies and is graced by two cameras, 720p HD each and slots for USB 2.0, micro SDX, HD Video out port and cover port.

Way to go for Microsoft as it gears for reclaiming the space it vacated for Apple and Google in the past few years!
