Hardware
Nokia is world famous for the durability of their phones and E7 is no exception in this part.

The phone is large, solid and sturdy and features a slide out qwerty keyboard. When its closed, it looks like a twin brother of N8.

The phone sports a gorgeous 4 inch capacitive touchscreen and a front facing camera for video call.

On the back you will find an 8 megapixel camera and a dual LED flash. For the protection of the lens it has a glass window.

The phone looks elegant due to its aluminum based design. It is slim and sleek despite having a slide out qwerty keyboard.

On top of E7 you will see a a 3.5 mm headphone jack, the power / profile key, a mini-HDMI port, and a micro-USB connector which works a charging port too. At the bottom you will see a microphone and a single speaker.

For the easy SIM installation Nokia put the SIM tray at the right edge of the phone. There is also a volume key and camera button.

E7 is a powerhouse performer. From processor to connectivity, it scores very high in all departments.

This qwerty smartphone features 680MHz ARM 11 CPU, a Broadcom BCM2727 GPU, 256MB of RAM, 350MB internal default storage, and 16GB of internal mass storage.

Connectivity is breezing fast in E7, as it has UMTS / HSPA, GSM / EDGE (quadband), WiFi b/ g/ n, Bluetooth 3.0, and AGPS.

Colors are true to life and the phone offers an excellent viewing angle. The resolution is 640 x 360 pixels. The screen is protected by heavy duty Gorilla Glass.

The 8MP camera on the back captures excellent photo even in the dark. The camera sports an EDoF lens and has a faster shooting speed. It can take panorama shot with the help of an Ovi store app. The E7 shoots 720p HD video at 25fps.

The audio recording is done in stereo mode and it’s loud and clear.

Software and Performance
The E7 runs on Symbian^3 PR1.1. You might not like the Symbian interface if you are using Android recently but the Symbian 3 runs smoothly.

While it may not give you the plethora of choices as Android Market, the Ovi has some useful apps to make your business needs simple.

The main plus point of Symbian is it saves a lot of battery life. While Andorid drains the battery just in one day even in the most high end devices, E7 is works non stop for three days.

The Bluetooth connectivity is top notch Ovi Maps provides accurate GPS guidance. The photo and video editors are extremely user friendly.

Final Verdict
The E7 is priced at $679. That’s a lot of money to ask for one smartphone, especially when the iPhone and Android are reaching new heights.

An Android phone will give you several apps to explore but at the same time when you start exploring you will see your battery dying at a faster rate.

But if you want longer battery life and multitasking with the comfort of qwerty keyboard then Nokia E7 is for you. The Symbian may be reaching its end but it’s still not down and out.
