Pittsburgh -- Former University of Pittsburgh football star Bob Buczkowski has been sentenced for his involvement in an escort service.
The Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reported Wednesday the 43-year-old Buczkowski, who also was a former draft choice by the LA Raiders in 1976, was accused by police of running the service with his girlfriend, Amy Schifano.
He was sentenced to nine to 16 months in jail and three years probation by Allegheny County Common Pleas Judge John A. Zottola.
In the judge's ruling, Buczkowski immediately was paroled after a guilty plea in June to two counts of promoting prostitution, six counts of possessing and dealing cocaine and several other charges.
He told the judge he would testify against others charged in the ring, if needed, including against Schifano, who faces a bench warrant for her arrest after she failed to appear for her sentencing.
The newspaper noted Schifano pleaded guilty in June to 27 charges, including promoting prostitution and dealing and possessing drugs.
