Radler and Trump were once buddies. At a banquet honoring Radler in 2002, Trump said, "When David says something, you can bank on it," Crain's Chicago Business Journal reported. As president of the Sun-Times, Radler even helped Trump negotiate for the property at 401 N. Wabash Ave., which the Sun-Times once occupied.

But times have changed. Radler purchased a condo at the Trump International Hotel and Tower for $1.7 million at a 10 percent discount and with a favorably low down payment Trump offered through a "friends-and-family," program, the report said. The contract also allowed Radler to sell the condo to another buyer.

But Trump reportedly tore up the contract and last year said, "those are profits we're entitled to."

Starting Feb. 25, however, Radler's address will be prison. He was sentenced Dec. 29 to 29 months in jail, for his part in a scheme, along with former Hollinger International Inc. Chairman Conrad Black to steal millions from the company. Radler testified against Black, who was sentenced to 6 1/2 years in prison.
