If the rumors floating around are to be believed then Apple would be unleashing its iPad3 somewhere around March.
The tech news site AllThingsD reported Wednesday, that the Cupertino, California based company may roll out the third generation iPad around the beginning of next month.
Though there is no specific release date, sources familiar with the company's plans suggest the iPad3 will debut at a special event in San Francisco’s Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, Apple’s preferred location for big announcements in the past.
If the reports are to believed then you can be expecting the upgraded tablet to go on sale within two weeks of its announcement.
One of the most rumored features of the next generation tablet is the inclusion of a high-resolution Retina Display. According to sources, the iPad3 touts a new “retina display” screen that is 2048 x 1536 resolution.
The specs, according to leaks
With buzz of the launch date for Apple’s latest tablet, speculation is rife about the possibility of major technical overhaul of the new device.
This will be the third tablet that would be released by Apple. The original version was launched in the year 2010. While the slimmer, sleeker iPad 2 with upgraded internals and dual-cameras was introduced in March 2011.
A few details gleaned from leaks up to this point indicate that design-wise the new iPad is expected to look similar to its predecessor.
However, there is a high probability that the latest Apple tablet may be equipped with a incredible new processor that will offer quicker browsing, gaming and other activities.
Reports speculate that the iPad will boast of an increase in graphics power, more RAM, higher quality cameras and will run on 4G LTE (Long Term Evolution) wireless networks.
Some say the new casing appears to accommodate a larger battery.
Could an iPad 3 Retina Display be on the way?
A retina display was widely predicted for the iPad 2, but as we know now that didn’t work out.
One of the most rumored features of the next generation tablet is the inclusion of a high-resolution Retina Display. According to sources, the iPad3 will flaunt a new “retina display” screen that is 2048 x 1536 resolution.
The much-improved screen will mean the next-gen device would offer a richer, sharper and clearer experience over any other existing tablet device in the market.
“As for the next-generation iPad itself, sources say it will be pretty much what we’ve been led to expect by the innumerable reports leading up to its release: A device similar in form factor to the iPad 2, but running a much faster chip, sporting an improved graphics processing unit, and featuring a 2048×1536 Retina Display — or something close to it,” All Things D reported.
