New York -- Former New York Yankees pitcher Roger Clemens claims injections given to him by his trainer didn't contain steroids or human growth hormone.

Clemens told an interview with "60 Minutes," slated to air Sunday evening on CBS, that the injections given to him by his former personal trainer, Brian McNamee, contained the painkiller lidocaine and vitamin B12, The New York Times reported Friday.
The pitcher's claims contradicted statements made by McNamee in last month's Mitchell report.
Earl Ward, lead attorney for McNamee, disputed Clemens' version of events during a Thursday interview with the Times.
"The only injections (McNamee) ever gave Clemens were for steroids and human growth hormone," he said.
"Brian is trained in sports medicine and knows the difference" between performance-enhancing drugs and the substances Clemens claims were inside the injections, Ward said.
McNamee's claims comprised a portion of a report filed by former U.S. Sen. George Mitchell, D-Maine, after a 20-month investigation at the behest of Major League Baseball. Clemens and McNamee assembled legal teams shortly after the report's release to defend their versions of events.
