Baryla shoots 61 at qualifying tourney

Winter Garden, Fla. -- Chris Baryla came storming through the field with an 11-under 61 Thursday that gave him the lead at the PGA Tour Qualifying Tournament.

Baryla was outside the top 50 after shooting a 72 in the first round on Wednesday, but his sensational round at the Orange County National Crooked Cat course put him in position to earn a spot on the 2011 tour.

The top 25 finishers in the six-round tournament will become fully exempt for next year's circuit.

Both the par-72 Crooked Cat and par-71 Panther Lake courses are being used for the 108-hole event with players rotating between them over the six rounds.

Baryla stood at 11-under with a two-shot lead over Ben Martin, who shot a 68 Thursday. Tied for third at 8-under were first-round leader Kyle Stanley and Sunghook Kang.

Four-time tour winner Carlos Franco moved into a share of fifth place at 7-under after shooting a 66.
