Facebook helps police arrest 74

Pontiac, Mich. -- Authorities said the arrests of 74 suspected gang members in a Michigan city were made possible in part by information on the suspects' Facebook pages.

U.S. Attorney Barbara McQuade said Pontiac authorities used Facebook and MySpace to help track down the 74 suspects, who are all in their teens or early 20s and are believed to belong to the Almighty Latin King Nation or New World Order gangs, the Detroit Free Press reported Friday.

Investigators said 32 arrests were made Wednesday and the rest were made Thursday.

Five of the suspects were scheduled to be arraigned Friday on drug-trafficking charges.
