President Obama may attend Chelsea Clinton's wedding, but Al Gore not

Chelsea, the only child of Clintons, and Marc have known each other since high school, as the children of politicians in Washington, D.C. Both later attended Stanford University together.

Chelsea Clinton, the daughter of former U.S. president Bill Clinton and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, is all set to walk down the aisle later this month, according to multiple tabloid reports.

The former first daughter, 30, is engaged to 31-year-old Goldman Sachs investment banker Marc Mezvinsky.

Wedding bells to ring soon for Chelsea and Marc
After six months of courtship, the pair is now preparing for summer wedding, the reports say.

According to Daily Mail, the couple plans to tie the knot in front of an intimate party of just 400 guests on July 31.

The nuptials will take place at the former estate of millionaire businessman John Jacob Astor IV in Rhinebeck, upstate New York, Daily reports.

President Obama to attend, but Gores to skip wedding
Reportedly, the wedding will include a star-studded guest-list with rumors President Barack Obama may make a last-minute appearance.

More in Chelsea wedding news, Daily reports that Chelsea wants her father to look good on her big day, urging him to lose more than a stone.

But it’s being reported by the New York Daily News that scandal-plagued Al Gore, former vice president to Bill Clinton, will not be attending the former first daughter's nuptials.

In a statement, the Gores family spokeswoman Kalee Kreider said Al and Tipper Gore "are not attending the wedding. They both wish Chelsea well, believe she is a wonderful young woman, and they share in the family's excitement."

Speaking at a summit in Washington, Clinton recently said: “She told me the other day, she said, 'Dad the only thing you gotta do is walk me down the aisle and you need to look good.”

“So I said 'Well, what's your definition?”

“And she said: 'Oh, about 15 pounds.' So I'm halfway home.”

Nov. engagement
Chelsea announced her engagement to investment banker Marc in an email to friends on Nov. 30, 2009.

"We're sorry for the mass email but we wanted to wish everyone a belated Happy Thanksgiving! We also wanted to share that we are engaged!” said the email.
