Looks like Rihanna has finally moved on after her painful split from Brown. The 'Umbrella' singer dated Brown for an year before ending her tumultuous relationship with her then boyfriend.

Finally, Rihanna has acknowledged she’s dating L.A. Dodger star Matt Kemp. Until now, the Barbadian singer has played coy about her relationship with the baseball star.

R&B singer Rihanna seems to have completely overcome the turmoil in her personal life and is thoroughly enjoying her relationship with the MLB player Matt Kemp.

Rihanna officially off the market
During an interview with American Idol host Ryan Seacrest on his KIIS FM show, ‘On Air With Ryan Seacrest,’ Rihanna admitted that she’s in love with Kemp and said that right now she just wants to have fun.

“He’s my boyfriend,” she said of the baseball star with a giggle. “It's new and it's fun. It's nothing too serious. I don't want anything that's going to take up so much of my energy and time right now in a bad way. I just want to have fun, and that's what it's about.”

Couple’s denial mode on romance rumors
Rumors of RiRi and Kemp’s romance made headlines in early January when the two were spotted getting cozy in Mexico. Before that Kemp was spotted at her New Year's Eve performance in Dubai.

During an interview with American Idol host Ryan Seacrest on his KIIS FM show, ‘On Air With Ryan Seacrest,’ Rihanna admitted that she’s in love with Kemp and said that right now she just wants to have fun.

Despite the pictures of the two that circulated all over the web showing them getting cozy and kissing, the couple denied rumors of a romantic relationship, with Kemp’s publicist going so far as to release a statement saying that the two were just friends getting flirty.

Grammy-winning singer Rihanna even told Ellen DeGeneres, when appearing on her show, that she was single.

But, rumors of their romance began to rife after Kemp threw a grand birthday party in Phoenix for the ‘Rude Boy’ singer in mid-February. Reports even emerged early last month that the player introduced Rihanna to his parents.

Despite that, the 25-year-old was still in denial mode, saying,"Rihanna is just a friend, a good friend of mine.” When questioned about his Mexico trip with RiRi, he replied: “We went down to Mexico and had fun together."

Up until now, the rumored couple has denied their status as a couple. But, on Thursday morning, RiRi made their romance official, saying she is romantically linked to Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder.

RiRi’s hideous assault incident
Last year, Rihanna made headlines due to a hideous assault incident that involved her then-boyfriend Chris Brown. In February 2009, she sat with reporter Diane Sawyer for an interview, where she broke how her fight with Brown allegedly was sparked from a text message.

"I caught him in a lie, and he wouldn't tell the truth. And I wouldn't drop it," New York Daily News quoted the singer as telling Sawyer. "I couldn't take that he kept lying to me, and he couldn't take that I wouldn't drop it. It escalated into him being violent towards me. And it was ugly."

In response to RiRi’s public remarks about the incident, Brown later released a statement in which he said,"While I respect Rihanna's right to discuss the specific events of February 8, I maintain my position that all of the details should remain a private matter between us."

He further stated: "I do appreciate her support and wish her the best. I am extremely sorry for what I did, and I accept accountability for my actions. At this point, I am taking the proper steps to learn about me and grow from my mistakes. I only hope that others in similar situations can learn from our experience as well. Abuse of any kind is always wrong. The rest I leave it to God."

The Barbados-born singer, who is perhaps one of the hottest singers on the planet, is currently focusing on her Last Girl On Earth North American tour, which also features Ke$ha and kicks off in Seattle on July 2.

When asked, during the interview, if Kemp would accompany her on her upcoming tour, Rihanna said, ‘NO.’
