Acapulco, Mexico -- Nicolas Almagro beat Gael Monfils 6-4, 6-4 to win Saturday's men's final at the Abierto Mexicano Telcel (Mexican Open) tennis tournament in Acapulco.

The fourth-seeded Spaniard captured his fifth career title and got revenge on his French opponent for a loss this year at the Australian Open.
Almagro's victory was worth $300,000 and gave him five career titles.
Monfils, the No. 2 seed, was denied his second career title.
