A child's skin can get pulled into the Nerf N-Strike Recon CS-6 Blaster's plunger, resulting in injury, the commission said Thursday.
About 330,000 of the toys were sold at Wal-Mart, Target, Toys "R" Us and other discount stores from November 2007 through August 2008 for about $20.
Hasbro Inc., of Pawtucket, R.I., has received 46 reports of injuries, including bruising, welts and abrasions, the commission said.
The toys are yellow with a black handle and orange plunger, trigger and reload clip, the commission said.
Consumers were advised to take the nerf blasters away from children and contact Hasbro for a free cylindrical cover to prevent injuries.
Consumers can call 800-245-0910 for information.
