UNLV extends Kruger's contract to 2013

Las Vegas -- Lon Kruger, who coached UNLV's men's basketball team to 57 wins the past two seasons, has been given a contract extension through 2013.

"The extension is well-deserved and we're looking forward to continuing the success of Rebel basketball with Lon Kruger as our coach," Athletic Director Mike Hamrick said Friday.

The one-year extension was approved by the UNLV Board of Regents, meeting in Reno, Nev.

Kruger's overall record in four seasons with the Runnin' Rebels is 91-42. He was named 2007-08 Coach of the Year in the Mountain West Conference.
