Third 'Scooby' movie headed to DVDby MT Bureau - August 4, 2008 - 0 comments
Los Angeles -- A third live-action movie based on the cartoon TV series "Scooby Doo" will be released in the United States in DVD format, The Hollywood Reporter says. The prequel "Scooby-Doo: In the Beginning," which will also will be shown on the Cartoon Network during its 2009 DVD release, follows two "Scooby" theatrical movies that were released in 2002 and 2004, the entertainment publication reports. The movie will tell the tale of the dog Scooby Doo and his human mystery investigators during their younger years. While the new "Scooby" film will feature live actors with computer-generated characters, it will be without the stars of the earlier films. Instead of Sarah Michelle Gellar and Freddie Prinze Jr., the new edition will feature a group of relative newcomers. The Reporter said the movie also represents part of the Cartoon Network's attempt to become a legitimate cinematic and live-action producer. Copyright 2008 by United Press International.
