Kolkata, India -- The Kolkata, India, creators of an Internet game pulled due to similarities to Hasbro's Scrabble have replaced it with a similar program, players say.
Brothers Rajat and Jayant Agarwalla released Wordscraper to the Internet just two days after a similar game they created, Scrabulous, was forced off the Web by Facebook, Hasbro and Electronic Arts due to its likeness to Scrabble, the Silicon Alley Insider reported Thursday.
The new game allows players to customize boards and bears a different look than Scrabulous, but there has not yet been any word from Hasbro on whether it is different enough from its predecessor to remain online without violating Scrabble's copyright.
