Washington -- The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced a voluntary recall of Earthentree wooden toys because of choking and strangulation hazards.

About 375 of the recalled toys, imported from India by Earthentree of Kirkland, Wash., were sold between December 2007 and May 2008 for between $7 and $34.

The recalled toys include a variety of models, including egg shakers, pull toys, rattles and trains. The wooden toys are painted with glossy red, orange, green, brown and yellow colors. Some portion of some of the toys are left a natural wood color.

Some of the toys include small parts that can choke a young child. Others include string longer than 12 inches long, which can pose a strangulation hazard.

Consumers were advised to take the recalled toys from children and contact Earthentree for an exchange or a refund.

Consumers can also call Earthentree at 800-963-1593 for more information.
