Ottawa -- The Canadian Food Inspection Agency warns people not to consume Rene Rey-brand Sun, Moon, Stars Dark Chocolate bars due to undeclared ingredients.
The CFIA said the products might contain milk protein that is not declared on the label, posing a health risk to people allergic to such substances.
Affected are:
Rene Rey Sun, Moon, Stars Dark Chocolate, 1.5-ounce bars bearing UPC 0 57587 11127 8. The bars can also be sold from a 24 chocolate display box bearing UPC 0 57587 11151 3 and lot code 990787 or 220968. The lot code can be viewed on the inside of the upper lid of the display box.
Rene Rey Sun, Moon, Stars Dark Chocolate Mint, 1.5-ounce bars bearing UPC 0 57587 11129 2. The bars can also be sold from a 24 chocolate display box bearing the UPC 0 57587 11305 0 and lot code 440958 or 550927. The lot code can be viewed on the inside of the upper lid of the display box.
The CFIA said the products were distributed in British Columbia and Alberta.
The candy was manufactured by Rene Rey Swiss Chocolates Ltd. of North Vancouver, British Columbia.
