Washington -- The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced a voluntary recall of Action Products shoelace and necklace charms due to a risk of lead exposure.
The charms, imported from China by Action Products International Inc. of Ocala, Fla., include clasps that contain high levels of lead, a CPSC statement said.
No injuries have been reported, but about 18,500 of the charms were sold nationwide from July 2007 through April 2008 for about $17 each.
The recall involves charm craft kits called Super Dooper Charms and Shoelace Charms, respectively numbered 63403 and 67310.
Consumers were advised to take the charm kits away from children and contact Action Products for a free replacement.
Consumers can also call Action Products at 800-772-2846 for more information.
