MLB: San Diego 5, Arizona 1by MT Bureau - July 5, 2008 - 0 comments
Phoenix -- Cha Seung Baek allowed just two hits over six innings Friday and the San Diego Padres downed struggling Arizona 5-1. The Diamondbacks lost for the seventh time in 10 games, fell back to the .500 mark and saw their lead over the Los Angeles Dodgers in the National League West trimmed to a half game. Baek (2-4) struck out seven before turning things over to the bullpen, which allowed three hits and a run in three innings. The Padres had only a 2-1 lead going into the eighth, but Kevin Kouzmanoff produced an RBI single in that inning. San Diego then added two more in the ninth on a sacrifice fly by Edgar Gonzalez and a run-scoring hit from Paul McAnulty. Dan Haren (8-5) took the loss, giving up two runs on seven hits in seven innings. Copyright 2008 by United Press International. Post new comment |
