Jailed Gary Glitter planning new album

Vung Tau, Vietnam -- Disgraced singer Gary Glitter reportedly is planning to record a new CD after he leaves the Vietnamese prison where he is serving time for child molestation.

Glitter, who was convicted in 2006 of "committing obscene acts" with two girls ages 10 and 11 in the coastal city of Vung Tau, is due to be released from jail in August.

"I have an incomplete album that I want to finish. I have been thinking about the plan during my days in jail," Sky News quoted the 64-year-old, British former glam rock star as telling the state-run Vietnamese newspaper, People's Public Security.

Although he is in generally good health, Glitter is having some trouble with his hearing, the report said.

The Vietnamese publication also revealed Glitter is mulling over the possibility of moving to Singapore or Hong Kong upon his release.

"I am trying to contact my lawyer and friends to see where the best place to live is," Glitter is quoted as saying.
