Washington-- The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced a voluntary recall of Expedition and Skandic Ski-Doo snowmobiles due to a fire hazard.
About 430 of the snowmobiles, imported by BRP U.S. Inc., of Sturtevant, Wis., were sold at Ski-Doo dealerships between March 2006 and May 2008 for about $10,000, CPSC said in a statement.
No injuries have been reported but the friction between the fuel hose and cylinder head cover can wear a hole in the fuel hose, causing a fire hazard, CPSC said.
The recall involves 2007 and 2008 models of the Expedition TUV V800 and Skandic SWT V-800 models, CPSC said.
Consumers were advised to stop using the snowmobiles immediately and contact a Ski-Doo dealer for free repairs.
Consumers can also call BRP at 888-638-5397 for information.
