New York -- Crude oil prices declined on the New York Mercantile Exchange Thursday, but gas prices continued to climb.

Crude prices have fallen for three weeks following a U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission announcement that it was investigating speculative oil investments.
Crude oil prices fell 0.07 cents Thursday morning to $122.23 per barrel.
The price of heating oil rose 0.0233 cents to $3.5691 per gallon. Reformulated blendstock gasoline prices rose 0.0074 cents to $3.2025 per gallon. Natural gas prices rose 0.096 cents to $12.475 per million British thermal units.
At the pump, the national average price for a gallon of unleaded gasoline continued its climb toward $4 per gallon, reaching 3.989 per gallon, AAA said.
