New York -- NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell notified suspended defensive back Adam "Pacman" Jones Monday he can join the Dallas Cowboys immediately.
Jones will be allowed limited reinstatement. He is permitted to participate in organized team activities, including training camp and pre-season games.
Goodell said a final decision on reinstatement for the upcoming season should come before Sept. 1. Until then, Jones is expected to continue to abide by the NFL's personal conduct program and avoid further involvement with law enforcement.
Jones, 24, was suspended for the entire 2007 season for numerous run-ins with the law in just two NFL seasons, including an alleged involvement in a shooting at a Las Vegas strip club during the NBA's All-Star weekend in February. Jones was traded from Tennessee to Dallas in April. Since entering the NFL, Jones has been questioned by police 10 times and has been arrested five times.
