Orval Kent- and Yoder-brand salad recalled

Washington -- The U.S. Food and Drug Administration announced the voluntarily recall of approximately 23,000 pounds of Amish macaroni salad that might pose a health risk.

Washington -- The U.S. Food and Drug Administration announced the voluntarily recall of approximately 23,000 pounds of Amish macaroni salad that might pose a health risk.

The FDA said the salad, produced by the Orval Kent Foods Co. of Wheeling, Ill., might be contaminated with E. coli.

Being recalled are Orval Kent- and Yoder's-brand Amish macaroni salad with UPC 7945368281, 7347468281, 7347401045 or 7347488729. The Orval Kent salad has a "use by" date of "6/12/08," while the Yoder's-brand salads have a date of "6/7/08."

The salads were sold in Delaware, Illinois, Indiana, Maryland, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, Ohio and Pennsylvania.

Consumers are urged to return all unopened containers to the place of purchase for a full refund. Consumers with questions can contact the company at 800-544-1246.
