Scorpion stings girl at Wal-Martby MT Bureau - May 28, 2008 - 0 comments
Barboursville -- The parents of a Barboursville, W.Va., 12-year-old said the girl was stung by a scorpion while shopping in the produce section of Wal-Mart store. William Templeton said his daughter, Megan, pulled her hand out of a produce box at the store to find an inch-long scorpion still attached to her finger by its stinger, the Charleston (W.Va.) Daily Mail reported Tuesday. "I didn't believe her at first, but then I saw it run underneath (the box)," Templeton said. He said the scorpion was caught by Wal-Mart employees and Megan was picked up from the store by her mother, Paula, and taken with the arachnid to Cabell-Huntington Hospital. "They had to look it up on the Internet because it is so unusual in the area," he said. "Everybody came down to look at it." Copyright 2008 by United Press International. Post new comment |
