New York -- Crude oil prices, near $133 a barrel, held relatively stable in New York through the Memorial Day weekend with no major supply disruptions reported.
The U.S. average price for unleaded gasoline, however, is only 0.063 cents from reaching the symbolic $4 per gallon barrier.
On Tuesday morning on the New York Mercantile Exchange, crude oil prices rose 68 cents to $132.87 per barrel.
The price of heating oil rose 0.071 to $3.9366 per gallon. Reformulated blendstock gasoline prices rose 0.0205 cents to $3.4165 per gallon. Natural gas prices rose 0.155 cents to $12.012 per million British thermal units.
At the pump, the national average price for a gallon of unleaded gasoline reached a record $3.937, up from Monday's price of $3.936, AAA said.
